ANYONE CAN BUSK
  • Anyone can be a busker - beginners to professionals

  • Prizes now total over $6000

  • There are many different categories you can compete in

  • Buskers who participated last year are welcome to come again

  • Singers, groups, musicians and instrumentalists of any genre and non-musical street entertainers welcome

  • All cash tips buskers make on the day are theirs to keep

  • Spectators can purchase "Busker Dollars" for $1 each & give them to the Buskers they like the most

  • Buskers will receive 10% cashback of the Busking Dollars that they collect from spectators

  • You can perform as many 1/2 hour sets as you like (pending number of buskers and stations)

  • You can sell your own CDS and busking merchandise at your busking site

  • Winners of the age categories will automatically qualify to compete in the Grand Final in Cooma NSW

  • Register by 23 February, 2017 ($20 entry fee for individuals, $50 for groups of 3 or more)
  • BUSKING IN THE MAIN STREET
  • Collect your lanyards from the Rotary Tent in the main street of Stanthorpe from 8.30am onwards (look for the yellow balloons)

  • Wear your lanyards at all times during the day

  • You can sell your own CDs and busking merchandise at your busking site

  • Put your hat/guitar case out for the Busker Dollar Tips (and any real money that you might receive - you can keep the money)

  • Spectators may give you their Busker dollars if they like your performance
  • These will be collected by official volunteers from you throughout the day

  • These will be tallied to determine the top 3 performers for the "People's Choice Award"

  • You will also receive 10% back on each busker dollar in real money (please make sure that we have your address or bank account details for payment to be made the week or so after the Event)

  • Buskers can hand in any uncollected "Busker Dollars" to the Rotary Tent to add to your tally (must be handed in by 3.30pm)
  • Finalists will only be announced from the stage at the Finals Concert in Weeroona Park starting at 4pm.
  • When called - finalists are to meet at the side of the stage for further direction - you will be playing one song at the concert!
  • There are lots of awards to hand out - so even if you're not in the finals concert it is a good idea to be there in case you win one of the Special Judges Awards

  • Arrive and finish on time at each of your venues

  • There will be 15 busking stations along Maryland and High Street (they will be clearly visible)

  • Make sure you know where your venues are located - ask at the Rotary tent if you are unsure
  • CONCERT
  • The finals concert will be held in Weeroona Park from 4pm

  • Prizes will be given out to buskers in each of the categories and the top three in each of the main categories will perform on stage

  • Judges will then decide which busker is the winner for that category

  • There will be food & drinks available in the park
  • PEOPLE'S CHOICE
  • The Buskers with the most Busker Dollars win the People's Choice Award
